Iv been so busy lately with the kids and school I had to find a few minutes for me. I really wanted to share with you the things that I have been going through with my 7th grader Josh.
Josh was diagnosed with Tourettes about 3 years ago. He blinks constantly. We took him to a neurologist who gave him meds to control his ADHD and then more meds to help with his tic, Well that was no help at all. The ADHD meds intensified his tics so bad that he would cry at night because his eyes hurt so bad. I just didn't know what to do. So I took him off of it all. I don't see the ADHD at all in him anymore but the blinking is still so bad especially when he gets nervous.
School for him has not been easy and making friends is really hard for him. Kids can be so cruel at times. Now we are making plans to take him to another neurologist about an hour away to see what they can do. I feel so helpless. As a mom we want to protect our children and teach them God made us all different and its okay to be different but I have to say this has been a long battle already and I pray that soon they will find something that will help him.
My heart goes out to you .. we have had alot of issues with our son too. He was diagnosed with ADHD a year ago. It must be awful to see your little guy going through this. All we can do is hope and pray things get better and be thankful it is not worse. I don't know what I would do if one of my children had a terminal illness.

ReplyDeleteI hope you get a better second opinion then the first. I think some doctors just go crazy with prescribing meds for things they don't need. You did right as a mom. I am following you back! Thanks so much for the follow!
